EMSCULPT uses HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic Field) technology to provide approximately 20,000 supramaximal contractions per session, which can normally not be achieved through spontaneous muscle movement
MUSCLE GROWTH AND FAT REDUCTION WITH JUST ONE TREATMENT
- Spontaneous contractions can increase the energy demand of fat cells. The released adrenaline signals the fat cells to start lipolysis. Fat stored in the form of triglycerides is broken down into free fatty acids (FFS) and glycerol, which are used as energy sources.
- Intense supramaximal contractions enhance the release of adrenaline, triggering a cascade effect leading to supramaximal lipolysis in fat cells. Because the stimulation is so rapid and intense, the lipolytic response is very strong, and excess FFS begin to accumulate in adipocytes.
- The FFS excess leads to cell dysfunction and the initiation of programmed cell death, known as apoptosis. Dead cells break down and are naturally discharged from the body.
When muscle tissue is subjected to supramaximal contractions, the tissue is forced to adapt to this extreme state. The muscle reacts with extensive restructuring of its internal structure, resulting in the growth of myofibrils (muscle hypertrophy) and the formation of new protein strands and muscle fibres (muscle hyperplasia).
