Venus Velocity is the diode laser for hair removal with gold standard efficacy and safety. It is more versatile and easier to use than other devices, offering treatments that are faster, more comfortable and safer for all skin types.
Venus Velocity features advanced laser technology with an optimum wavelength of 800 nm, a high peak power of 2400 W and a high energy density of up to 100 J/cm². These specifications make Venus Velocity a leading diode laser for hair removal, permanent hair reduction and the treatment of razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae).
It is a versatile, easy-to-use system with two operating modes (SLIDE and PULSE MODE), three changeable spot sizes, preset treatment parameters, an ergonomic applicator and a user-friendly interface, offering users versatility and greater ease of use. The repetition frequency of up to 10 Hz, the largest spot size of 7 cm² and the SLIDE mode option facilitate faster treatments with higher patient turnover. The treatment is safe for all skin types, including tanned skin. The advanced real-time cooling system and SLIDE mode ensure a comfortable patient experience.

LASER BEAM PROPAGATION

LIGHT ABSORPTION

Once the light reaches the skin, it splits into four parts: 1) reflection, 2) scatter and/or absorption, 3) transmission

The amount of scattering is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the light. Longer wavelengths tend to have less scatter. As a result, they penetrate deeper.

The amount of scatter is inversely proportional to the spot size of the applicator. A larger spot size allows deeper penetration.
LIGHT ABSORPTION BY MELANIN
Specific wavelengths have specific absorption coefficients per chromophore and are absorbed accordingly by targets within the tissue.
Venus Velocity emits light at a wavelength of 800 nm that is strongly absorbed by melanin. Melanin is present in the hair shaft and serves as a target (i.e. chromophore) in hair removal treatments. High absorption by melanin (compared to other chromophores such as oxyhaemoglobin) ensures selective and effective hair removal treatments.
STRUCTURE OF HAIR AND SKIN
Melanin is present in both the hair shaft and the upper third of the follicular epithelium. The heat generated in the hair shaft diffuses into the follicular epithelium to cause the damage. The heat extends into the hair follicle area where the stem cells are formed and into the dermal papilla.
By targeting the stem cells within the hair follicles, bulb and dermal papilla, Venus Velocity achieves effective long-term hair reduction.
STAGES OF HAIR GROWTH
Due to the composition of the hair follicles and their binding to the dermal papilla, the maximum heat effect occurs during the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle. The heat effect on the depth of the hair follicle during the anagen phase results in long-term hair reduction.

With a wavelength of 800 nm and a revolutionary real-time cooling system, Venus Velocity strikes the perfect balance between high energy absorption of melanin chromophores and deep penetration into the skin, making it safe and effective for all skin types, including tanned skin.
The combined effect of the high peak power of 2400 W allows for high fluences (energy density of up to 100 J/cm²) within short pulse durations, providing overall safe and effective hair removal. In PULSE mode. the high power enables high energy with shorter pulse duration. Lower energy output and intense cooling with heat accumulation permit safe and effective treatments in SLIDE mode.

VERSATILE WITH TWO MODES OF OPERATION
Venus Velocity offers two different modes of operation: SLIDE and PULSE mode. Unlike other diode laser systems that offer either one or the other mode, Venus Velocity allows operators to choose between the two options depending on individual patient needs.
PULSE mode delivers higher energy at a lower repetition rate into the tissue, resulting in higher clinical efficacy and fewer treatment sessions.
SLIDE mode, in which the applicator is continuously moved over the treatment area, delivers a high repetition rate of short pulses, resulting in high average power with full coverage and greater patient comfort.
